The rivers Ariège and Garonne, the
historic cities of Foix, Mirepoix and Carcassonne, the castle of Montségur
(Pays Cathare) are certainly worthwhile visiting during your day trips around
the Pyrenees. It is even possible to visit Andorra or Lourdes in one day.
You will be delighted when you see the nearby fortress-villages such as St.
Ybars and Carla Bayle.
The capital of the Midi-Pyrénées,
Toulouse, known as the Rose city and famous for its architecture, gastronomy and
cultural activities, is only 45 minutes away by car.
Grottos, small churches, castles…….
There is a lot to discover in this area not yet very well known to tourists.
In the direction of Toulouse is situated a very nice zoo/safari park and towards
the Pyrenees lies a beautifully situated prehistoric park.

Regional
and organic products can be found in the typical French open markets.
If you like wandering around handicraft and flea markets, you will get your
share here.

At a distance of 7 km: a small lake,
fishing, tennis, and pony/horse riding.
Canoeing on the river Ariège (organized by La Lèze).
A beautiful golf course lies at
35 km in the direction of the Pyrenees. You'll find four more around Toulouse.
In the
neighbourhood you can go for a walk (routes available at the campsite) and
cycle. Because it is rather hilly over here you have to bring good bike(leg)s.
You can also go on a walk in the Pyrenees (if possible organized by La Lèze)
